    Who is the Foundation?

The Jerry W. Walker Colorectal Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to financially assisting patients with the medical obligations due to their illness.

    Mission Statement

"The Jerry W Walker Colorectal Cancer Foundation in Memory of Jerry Walker who passed away of Colorectal Cancer. Our aim is to give financial aid to as many underprivileged Colorectal Cancer patients in the United States as possible and to give moral and emotional support to all Colorectal Cancer patients and their Caregivers."

How did the Jerry W Walker Colorectal Cancer Foundation get started?

In August 2003, Jerry and Neevra's life as a couple was thrown for a loop when Jerry was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. They soon found out just how little was known about this disease, how his diagnosis disrupted their personal, social, as well as financial life together. Neevra could not help but think of the underprivileged who must feel an enormous disruption of the normal flow of household income and expenses at a time like this.

    Is_it a 501 (c)(3) meaning a recognized charity for tax purposes?

    Yes, see above.

    Is this a new Foundation?

No. State of Georgia date of notice: 27 October 2006. Registration number CH-06828, effective date 28 August, 2006. Exemption from Federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal revenue code received on 29 September and effective since 17 August, 2006.

    Who is managing the Foundation?

The President of the Foundation, Neevra Weyers Walker is currently managing the foundation.

How much money do we plan do give to research?

Currently there is no budget for research. We support it and feel physical research is extremely important but our primary aim is to aid the patient in financial and emotional need.
